Benefits Caseworker

Job Details

 

Location: Based in the main bureau in Merthyr Tydfil and at outreach locations across the borough.

 

Salary: £20,253 - £22,212 FTE (SCP 22 - 25)

              Hours will be pro-rata based on FTE.

 

Hours: Up to 35 Hours Monday – Friday

              Full time/ Part time hours will be considered.

 

Contract Type: Fixed Term Contract until 31st March 2016

 

Closing Date: 12.00pm Monday 14th September 2015

Job Role

 

The successful candidate will provide effective and comprehensive advice and casework support to people living in the Merthyr Tydfil area from main bureau as well as at various outreach venues.

 

The role will involve providing clients with full support regarding welfare benefits issues including income maximisation. The role will involve advising clients on the benefit appeals process and providing casework support by preparing, presenting and submitting cases to the appropriate statutory bodies, tribunals and courts as appropriate.

 

The successful candidate will be a team player with the ability to use initiative and work proactively, with good interpersonal skills. Past experience on providing benefits advice and casework would be an advantage.

Generalist Adviser

Job Details

 

Location: Based in the main bureau in Merthyr Tydfil and at outreach locations across the borough.

 

Salary: £17,714 (SCP 18)

              Hours will be pro-rata based on FTE.

 

Hours: Up to 35 Hours Monday – Friday

              Full time/ Part time hours will be considered.

 

Contract Type: Fixed Term Contract until 31st March 2018

 

Closing Date: 8am Tuesday 2nd May 2017

Job Role

 

The successful candidate will provide effective and comprehensive advice to people living in the Merthyr Tydfil area.

 

The role will involve providing clients with help and support regarding all welfare benefits issues including income maximisation and also providing information and advice on other topics such as Debt, Housing and Employment issues.

 

Advice sessions will be provided by booked appointments and drop-in times at the main bureau and also at our various outreach venues.

 

Past experience on providing generalist advice would be an advantage.
