Citizens Advice Merthyr Tydfil provides free, impartial and confidential advice services to our local community.

Volunteers play a vital role on it and we actively welcome volunteers of all ages and different backgrounds.

We value our volunteers and we want to make sure that they get the most out of working with us. We offer them the chance to get involved in constructive and challenging work and to develop their skills through training courses as well as offering our day-to-day support, supervision and feedback.

As a volunteer with Citizens Advice Merthyr Tydfil you will be able to help in our different roles such as Adviser, or Administrator/Receptionist. Please note that the minimum time commitment for Administrator/Receptionist roles is one full day per week, over four months. For Adviser roles we require a commitment of two full days per week over a year at least.

Before you start volunteering, we will invite you for an informal visit where we will talk about the current opportunities. If, following this visit, you are still interested then you will need to complete an application form and we will arrange an interview to decide if the role is suitable for you. If you are successful and we receive two satisfactory references, we will provide a full induction in our office.
